Since their 2007 inception, they have melded together effortlessly and have already compiled an impressive following of support on the west coast, seeing regular rotation on local modern rock station Live 105 and sharing stages with the likes of Hawthorne Heights, There For Tomorrow, Deftones, and more. Their newest EP, Karma Never Sleeps, is both ambitious and captivating. Their new material features six sweeping tracks filled with soaring vocals, catchy hooks, charging guitars and explosive instrumentations that make for a mesmerizing whirlwind of cinematic soundscapes. I the Mighty has undoubtedly achieved their goal of creating bright, bold, and memorable music with their full catalogue of songs, but they don't plan on slowing down anytime soon. Blake Dahlinger (drums) expounds, "At this point, there isn't one singular goal that would satisfy what we aim to do. We want to tour the world. We want to continously put out records that will hopefully mean a lot to us as well as many people. We want to put our own stamp on the music scene by developing our own sound. We want to continuously set and reach goals throughout our career so that we can better ourselves as musicians and people." Fighting The Villain Caitlyn Mae, Miguel Perez, Danny Brown, Cisco Estrada, and Will Smith. -From Hayward, California. -Fighting The Villain is an explosive female-fronted progressive rock band hailing from Hayward, CA. Produced by Erik Ron (Panic! at the Disco, Saosin, Four Year Strong), FTV's debut EP instantly grabs a wise spectrum of listeners with pop-infused vocals, progressive instrumentations, harmonies, and odd meters. The band's creative influences and breathtaking live demeanor have gained a strong cult following nationally as well as internationally. Rin Tin Tiger Kevin Sullivan, Sean E. Sullivan, and Andrew Skewes-Cox. -From San Francisco, California. -Rin Tin Tiger is an alternative folk rock trio from SF. High energy, lyric heavy, acoustic guitar lead songs about life in contemporary society. The sound is often described as a blend between early Bob Dylan, Violent Femmes, and Tupac. They have shared the stage with Minus the Bear, Young the Giant, Manchester Orchestra, Max Bemis of Say Anything, The Lumineers, Fences, Los Amigos Invisibles, Mike Coykendall, Ida, Hey Marseilles, and many more along the West Coast. Mr. Kind Brian Bergeron, Jon Devoto, Geoff McCann, Matt Roads, and Peter Smith. -From Oakland, California. -Oakland-based Mr. Kind has drawn comparisons to the literate lyricism of The National, the collaborative studio spirit of Dr. Dog and the dynamic energy of Arcade Fire. Since the release of their first EP, OK, the band has moved from raw, americana influenced rock to the more dense, electronic leanings of their recently released second EP, Mr. Kind. The confessional lyrical style approach introduced in OK is evident as well, with additional inquiry and observations about living in a distracting and demanding contemporary society. |
