The Paul & John's Inner Sunset release party The Orange Peels www.theorangepeels.com Coastal Pop The Paul & John ~Paul Myers & John Moremen (album release) thepaulandjohn.bandcamp.com/ Rock Felsen felsen.bandcamp.com Indie Pop Rock The Orange Peels Allen Clapp, Jill Pries, John Moremen, Gabriel Coan -from Sunnyvale - SF Bay Area -When The Orange Peels embarked on recording sessions for their fifth album, Sun Moon (Minty Fresh/Mystery Lawn Music), the band really didn’t have a direction in mind. Afterall, they’d already conquered the indiepop, powerpop and West-Coast rock genres with their critically acclaimed back-catalog, and they didn’t want to fall into the old trap of trying to repeat past successes. So it is on its fifth album that the band finds itself navigating the confluence of post rock, indiepop, space rock, nouveau psychedelia, and prog rock, with melody as its only compass. The Paul & John -Paul Myers and John Moremen -Come celebrate the release of their debut album Inner Sunset, with the new six piece live lineup: John Moremen & Paul Myers are backed by drummer Dawn Richardson, bassist Aaron Rubin, and multi-instrumentalist/backup singers Alison Levy and Inner Sunset producer Allen Clapp, which is SUNSATIONAL. Felsen Andrew Griffin Dylan Brock Art McConnell Cristian Hernandez -from West Oakland -Frontman Andrew Griffin started Felsen after his 2006 cancer diagnosis, which led to the release of Felsen's first album, Accidental Drowning, in 2009. Felsen Loves You—an EP on the Ninth Street Opus label—followed in 2010, and in 2011 another full-length album—Breaking up with Loneliness—was self-released. Oakland-based indie rockers, Felsen, have recently completed their fourth album, I Don’t Know How to Talk Anymore, with a national release on September 4, 2013. |
