The band is commonly abbreviated as "ITTCT" and play a heavy shade of intricate and layered instrumental post-rock. If These Trees Could Talk is band with a slightly heavier sound which is often compared to bands like Joy Wants Eternity, Red Sparowes or even Explosions In The Sky at their heaviest. Highly recommended for fans of the bands mentioned and Post-Rock in general. The song Malabar Front, from their self-titled album, was featured in a preview for the PlayStation 3 game inFamous.- Driftoff J. Crawford - drums // E. Jernigan - guitar, vocals // J. Munguia - bass, vocals // M. Nieves - guitar, vocals -from New York, NY -DRIFTOFF comprises members of Junius, Rosetta, City of Ships, and Superblonde, and sees these veterans eschew the atmospheric metallics of their other bands in favor of a radiant, crushing post-hardcore sound. Desperate vocals and massive tones add up to what Decibel Magazine calls "frantic, feedback-riddled post-hardcore... noisy, squalling forward momentum," highly recommended for fans of Quicksand, Hot Water Music, Planes Mistaken For Stars, and Deftones. The songs on their new EP, Modern Fear (Science of Silence / Golden Antenna Records), tell tales of Driftoff's hometown of New York City – from a prisoner sentenced to tend the city's mass burial ground on Hart Island, to a subway busker living underground. Guitarist/vocalist Eric Jernigan has called the city "a self-contained bubble of madness... an endless well of inspiration. Spotlights Sarah Quintero - Bass/Guitar/Vocals Mario Quintero - Guitar/Synths/Vocals Josh Cooper - Drums -from Brooklyn, NY - Spotlights is Mario and Sarah Quintero's project proceeding the expansive, post rock 5 piece, Sleep Lady. After moving to Brooklyn from San Diego in 2013, they began writing and performing new music as a 2 piece focusing on a more electronic sound with Mario on drums. After self releasing the Demonstration EP, they employed drummer, Joey Campanella for live shows, moving Mario to guitar and vocals. Spotlights is now in full force, bringing forth a massive sound, sometimes referred to as "Doomgaze" or “Post-Metal” with enormous guitar sounds, earth shaking bass and drums and shimmering synths and vocals. DJ Rob Metal DJ Rob Metal -from San Francisco, CA -Rob Metal knows his stuff. He knows the difference between black metal, death metal, black thrash, kult black metal, technical death metal, and poser hipster metal. He's the go-to DJ for many of San Francisco's punk and metal promoters to take the decks between live band sets at places like Thee Parkside, Annie's, and the DNA. - |
