'Metal' Marty Chandler - Guitar, Vocals. 'Captain' Chris Von Streicher - Drums. -from Seattle, WA -The Supersuckers are an American rock band. They are the self-proclaimed "Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band in the World." Following the relative success of their 1997 foray into country music with the release of Must've Been High, they have also been known to play country shows under various names, including, of course, The Supersuckers. The Supersuckers were formed in Tucson, Arizona, in 1988 by high-school friends Eddie Spaghetti (born Edward Carlyle Daly III, bass, vocals), Ron Heathman (guitar), Dan "Thunder" Bolton (guitar), Dancing Eagle (born Dan Seigal, drums), and Eric Martin (lead vocals). After playing the local scene for about a year under the name the Black Supersuckers (taken from a pornographic novel), the band moved to Seattle, ostensibly in search of a climate more conducive to leather jackets. Martin left the band not long after, and Eddie Spaghetti took his place on lead vocals. Shortening their name to the Supersuckers, the band recorded singles for several indie labels, including eMpTy, Sympathy for the Record Industry, and Lucky; these were collected on the eMpTy compilation The Songs All Sound the Same, which became the band's first CD release in 1992. That year, they signed to Sub Pop and issued their proper debut album, The Smoke of Hell, which was produced by Jack Endino and featured cover art by renowned comic artist Daniel Clowes. Featuring one of the band's best-known songs in "Coattail Rider," the record also spun off the single "Hell City, Hell," whose B-side was a fan-favorite cover of Ice Cube's "Dead Homiez. In June 2015, it was announced the Spaghetti had been diagnosed with stage 3 oropharynx cancer, which impacts the back of the throat, close to the tongue and tonsils. Undaunted, Spaghetti underwent surgery and radiation treatments, and the Supersuckers were back with a new album in October 2015, the country-leaning Holdin' the Bag " Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band Rev. Peyton, Washboard Breezy Peyton, and Maxwell Senteney -from Bean Blossom, Indiana -The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band bridges genres and eras with an intensity and effortlessness few contemporary artists possess. Buoyed by the Rev’s supercharged six-string virtuosity — a unique style of fingerpicking inspired by his Delta blues heroes, but taken to new, original heights. The Big Damn Band — which includes Breezy Peyton on washboard and Max Senteney on drums has always been strong on authenticity, blending blues, ragtime, folk, country and other traditional styles with the sleek modern energy of do-it-yourself, homespun, punk-fueled rock. Constant touring lead the band to be awarded “Best Band of the Warped Tour” and to the stages of famed festivals such as Austin City Limits, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, WOMAD, Telluride, Cambridge Folk, All Good, King Biscuit and DelFest, among many other prestigious gigs. The band’s latest record, So Delicious, debuted at #1 on the iTunes Blues Chart and #3 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart and their songs have earned placements in the hit Showtime series Shameless. Jesse Dayton Jesse Dayton -from Austin, TX -Jesse Dayton has been building a cult following around the globe playing festivals in North America and Europe for years with his guitar shredding, country-infused, Americana sound. His first record, Raisin’ Cain (1995), earned him a number one ranking on Americana radio. It also lead to Jesse being hired at a young age to play lead guitar on some of the last recordings and live concerts of country legends Waylon Jennings, Ray Price, Johnny Bush, Willie Nelson and Glen Campbell. Jesse formed his own label in 2002, Stag Records, and began his most prolific recording period. He recorded five solo records, one duet record, one live record, all on Stag, He also recorded two soundtrack recordings, Devil’s Rejects and Halloween 2, for rocker/director Rob Zombie. Jesse also found time to act in movies and music videos, produce several records for other artists (the latest being Supersuckers front man Eddie Spaghetti’s “The Value Of Nothing” on Bloodshot Records), write two screenplays, and most recently write and direct the horror movie, “Zombex,” starring Malcolm McDowell, Sid Haig, John Doe, and Lew Temple (“Walking Dead). - |
