Take some of Billy Childish’s trashy guitar solos, some of the Miracle Workers’ and The Stomachmouths’ catchy melodies, add some “three-finger organ”, combine them with invisible monsters and cavemen, in the spirit of the late great Screaming Lord Sutch, and you’ll have the gist of what these guys are up to. The Trashbones have their roots in 1960s US garage punk, a time when teenagers started playing their own music, delivering their own ideas and ideals through tight and catchy lyrics telling the conservative society, “Here we are!” The sound that those ’60s proto-punks created is the same sound the four Austrian freaks play – succinct fuzz-guitars, farfisa organ, furious drumming, and wild, howling vocals that represent a one hundred per cent high-voltage rock’n’roll attitude. Apart from the actual sound that they create, Wild Evel & the Trashbones stand out with their untamed live performance, for which each member pushes his plan through. On hearing the drums you might be tempted to look for the reincarnation of Keith Moon seated at the drum stool! The overdriven fuzz guitars will blaring. And the recent addition of Fernando Terror taking over keyboard duties will fully unleash Evel to higher levels of on-stage insanity. Since their formation in February 2009, the Trashbones have toured all across Europe, from England to Russia and from Norway to Spain, where their distinctive sound, look, and furious live performances continue to astonish people at club gigs and major festivals alike. Isaac Rother & The Phantoms -from Los Angeles, CA -Isaac Rother & The Phantoms are the masters of Ghoulish Rock N Roll. A style that unites wild Rock N’ Roll with mid-century Rhythm N’ Blues while adding an overlay of retro horror schlock. Since forming in 2012 the cape wearing, afro’d Rother and his Phantoms have released of slew of EP’s, LP’s, cassette tapes, CDs and music videos to adoring fans all over the world. Their music has taken them as far as Europe and many consider them to be one of the most exciting bands in the business. Only time can tell what this thrilling group will accomplish. If you are lucky enough to catch them live, you are in for an unforgettable performance that will leave you screaming for more! The Ogres Johnny Bartlett, Rick Kvoriak, Patrick Phelan, Jonathan Davis, Billy Graves -from Oakland, CA -One chords and a cloud of dust. Plus plush vests. Finally, a band that rocks exclusively in your favorite key: C. DJ Sid Presley David Greenfield -from Pacifica, CA -David Greenfield, aka DJ SID PRESLEY, spins the music of the late 1950's through the 1960's, including British Invasion beat, surf and exotica instrumentals, groovy mod pop, greasy rhythm and blues, raw garage rockers, and much, much more. An evening with DJ Sid guarantees sounds geared to dancing, drinking and excitement. His carefully-curated sets are packed full of both ear-opening rarities and crowd-pleasing ravers. SINGAPORE AND SE ASIA POP SCENE 1964-69, which showcased rare pop music from Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. |
