Having initially formed as a recording project by vocalist Alexi Rose Belchere and guitarist Devin Nelson, the duo decided to take on the project full time after premiering a set of songs at their space and prom-themed joint birthday party in July 2011. Their lineup completed by bassist Jack Sundquist and drummer Paul Conroy, The Y Axes collaborate to create energetic and hard-hitting pop with intricate instrumentations and ethereal vocal melodies that can stick in your mind for weeks. We are not the future of pop music; we are pop music from the future. With influences of Psychedelic rock, Jangle Pop, Garage rock, and a taste of Motown Soul we are a guaranteed GOODTIME™. Bay Area lovebugs create tunes drawing inspiration from Surf and Psychedelic rock, Jangle Pop, Shoegaze, and a splash of Soul. Junior Reed- Guitar, Vocals, Songwriting Christian Ruth- Drums Derulo Boulet- Bass, Backing Vocals -from San Diego, CA -SoCal psych garage pop trio Lunar Hand combine danceability, memorable riffs, and sharp-witted lyrics into one strapping sound. Spearhead Junior Reed began writing songs when he was 15 and along the way met Derulo Boulet (Bass) and Christian Ruth (Drums) in their high school jazz band class. The greaser theatrics which the Arctic Monkeys have been chasing on their past few releases seem to come naturally to Lunar Hand. The sound is huge and the cryptic lyrics are whip-smart, sung in an aching baritone that belies their age. The original Big Wave band, The Sleeps, formed in 2017 as the product of four teenagers getting creative in a basement down in sunny Oakland (CA). Deriving influence from the direct simplicity of punk and new wave, the tongue-in-cheek spirit of 90s indie, and the aesthetic self-indulgence of New York glam rock, The Sleeps deliver raucous, noisy, and often disorienting content to the grinning masses at breakneck pace and high volume (yes, that's a double-meaning). You can often find these fine young Big Wavers crawling around Oakland wearing funny clothes, jumping on each other, and calling it all art. |
