Punk Rock! Public Enema -from East Bay, CA -Public Enema is a hardcore punk band that started in the early 1980’s in Berkeley, that formed in the heyday of Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys and Black Flag. They played Ruthie’s Inn and other venues way back when. Several years ago they starting playing again every once in awhile with all five original members, including Dave Edwardson the bassist of Neurosis. Public Enema was his first band when he was 15 years old - his mom grounded him from band practice when he got his first Mohawk! Two other band members later went on to Samiam and Special Forces, and Barry Lazarus the owner of Red Devil Records is on vocals. Yeah, we’ve all played in different bands over the years (Six Steps to Hell, Hate Brigade, Culo a Boca, Fury 66, Dead Set, Fire Whiskey, etc…). We have a zillion bands that influence us, but it’s not worth going through them all here. Just come out and hang out with us sometime. We’ll do our best to make you a fan. |
