Formed in 2015, the band released their debut EP, The Black Sun, shortly after inception. The record caught the attention of STB Records, which brought in Billy Anderson (Swans, Melvins, Neurosis) to produce their full-length debut, 2016's ...In the Shadows Below. A second EP, Burn Your Dead, arrived the following year, this time via Magnetic Eye Records, and in 2019 the band issued their sophomore full-length effort, Ash and Dust. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi Disastroid -from San Francisco, CA -San Francisco's Disastroid makes heavy music that isn't boring. Blending the vibes of 90s grunge with modern stoner, noise, and math rock, Disastroid sounds something like a lost band from the Amphetamine Reptile back-catalogue -- a mashup of odd, unpredictable time changes, sludgy riffs, and soulful vocals. In 2024 Disastroid released their second album, “Garden Creatures", on Heavy Psych Sounds. Produced by Billy Anderson (Sleep, Melvins, Swans, Mr. Bungle, Neurosis), it trades some of the raw, angular vibe of their last outing, “Mortal Fools", for darker, moody textures and a denser, more layered heavy sound. Gravedodger -from San Francisco, CA -Your new favorite band. Featuring members of bands you've never heard of (Glitter Wizard, Hightower, Walken, Hazard's Cure, Rock Bottom). Are they punk? Are they metal? Are they psych? Digging into a deep tradition of Bay Area eclecticness, taking musical influence from every genre and blending it into pure positive stoke. Just as much Minutemen as they are Judas Priest.... Guy Alvarez: drums Shane Bergman: guitar David Fallis: bass and vocals Jackson Given: guitar and piano |
