Cheerleader Roadkill
-from Chicago suburbs, IL
-Our Featured Local Artist this month is Cheerleader Roadkill, a pop-punk band from the western Chicago suburbs, founded in 2022. Classmates Noel Kovac (guitar, vocals) and Jack Metz (bass), inspired by the sound of 90s pop punk bands like blink-182, Simple Plan, and Sum 41, they began writing songs in Kovac’s garage in July of 2022 and soon turned their attention to finding a drummer. After 6 months of rotating through a handful of drummers, fellow classmate Jesse Ortega (drums) was brought into the fold and solidified the current lineup.

The band released their first EP, Cowboy divorce birthday party, in April of 2023, followed by a single, “Get Up,” in June of 2023, and another, “Suburbia,” in January of this year. The band is currently halfway through writing and recording their first full length album, which is expected out in the summer of this year. - WUSO.org

Local Bylaws
-from Los Angeles, CA
-Since forming in 2021, California's LOCAL BYLAWS have harnessed pure energy into their brand of ferocious, female-fronted punk rock. Having met online, they found an easy alliance when they realized they were all union workers (a UBC carpenter, an IBEW electrician, and a SAG-AFTRA actress), and this connection translated well into the music, lending an all-for-one ethos to their blue collar, glam-yet-gritty debut EP, Working Agreement.

The new full-length album boasts a more mature sound, equal parts distortion and harmony, drum-heavy and lyrically dense, but still poppy enough to sing along to. Recorded with Ryan Perras (Dan Andriano, Lektron, Asian Man Records), and mixed & mastered by Jack Shirley (Jeff Rosenstock, Deafheaven), the LP, Lost the Plot, is currently being released song by song on all streaming services.

East Brothers
-from the East Bay, CA
-EAST BROTHERS are a four-piece mort rock band from the East Bay Area // we take influence from classic punk, grunge, and garage rock like the Ramones, the Stooges, Misfits, Op Ivy, Nirvana, and The Clash.
