A genre interloper by nature, Ferraro consolidates his pop-leaning releases under the AETC heading, though each varies in its sonic makeup. 2015’s Mind Out Wandering drew comparisons to the Bee Gees and Philadelphia soul, while 2018’s Living in Symbolemerged from a weird brew of 60’s library music, Brazilian psych-jazz, and outsider private pressings. AETC has re-emerged in 2025 with the eclectic EP The Funny Man Is Laughing With You and a newly announced third LP, Professional Void. The latter is a product of modern tensions: the internet eats the world as its denizens crave the real. Side A tilts toward cloud rock while side B reaches back for earth. The two sit together in reflection of the dissonant efforts to reconcile our embodied and projected selves. Mare -from San Francisco, CA -per lunae ductus lumen Tricky FM -from San Francisco, CA -Tricky FM is the music project of Hana Freed - San Francisco based artist and musician. Hana started making music on the computer and some second hand hardware in 2018 under the moniker Niki FM after her guitar teacher was mean to her. She started quietly releasing tracks online and eventually released Bloodwork LP on Bandcamp in 2019 - it was mostly Apple Loops and samples ranging from Akira Yamaoka to Justin Bieber. In 2021, Hana moved to San Francisco and started playing live often the black sheep on the bill alongside rock and shoegaze bands - they were all nice to her. After hitting rock bottom, Hana made an album about it called Peace, Love, Unity, Rave and released it on local San Francisco label Cherub Dream Records in 2023 and then opened for Alice Glass. Tricky FM is inspired by the complex experience of being a “girl” navigating love, sex, intimacy, trust, art and fulfillment. Their music is influenced by early 2000s indietronica, drum and bass, ambient, freak folk and pop. |
