The US metal band perfectly combines melodic heaviness with pinches of progressive, sludge, and other styles with seeming ease. WITCH RIPPER can be generally located within the wider sonic realm that is inhabited by MASTODON, BARONESS, and HIGH ON FIRE, yet they also continue to channel the rock bombast of QUEEN and DAVID BOWIE as well as the modern prog of COHEED AND CAMBRIA and MUSE. WITCH RIPPER are also determined to tour across the United States and hope for a first voyage to Europe in support of "Through the Hourglass". Metal is anything but dead, and this album is living proof of its vibrant present. Lowcaster -from San Francisco, CA -Lowcaster is a San Francisco metal band combining classic riffs with progressive landscapes. Their debut album, The Vapor Sea, established a solid foundation of dueling guitar wizardry, thrashy breaks, and atmospheric heaviness. Now with their sophomore release "Flames Arise", Lowcaster continues to branch out incorporating long form songwriting with concepts of metaphysics, identity, and folklore. Lowcaster is: Jason Bridges - Guitar / Vocals Marc Brandi - Guitar / Vocals Dean LaVoie - Drums Blaine Tabor - Bass Disastroid -from San Francisco, CA -San Francisco's Disastroid plays a heavy mix of stoner, sludge, grunge, and noise rock. Disastroid is: Enver Koneya Travis Williams Braden McGaw Disastroid’s latest outing, Garden Creatures, is a record about the darkness in the hidden corners of suburban landscapes — sinister overgrown gardens, secret collections kept in basements, the crime just beneath the surface, the pervasive loneliness under a veneer of normalcy. Accordingly, it’s a dark and atmospheric record, trading the stripped-down approach of 2020’s Mortal Fools for a thicker, heavier, and more layered sound. Legendary producer Billy Anderson (Sleep, Melvins, Neurosis) builds mixes that range from dark and dreamy to a thick, sludgy crunch, slowly puling the listener through a range of sounds and textures, making sure things stay interesting. Singer/guitarist Enver Koneya's vocals are soulful and sometimes haunting, drifting above Disastroid’s characteristically off-kilter, grunge-influenced riffs. |
