Fronted by the powerful voice of Bob Reed (Overwhelming Colorfast, Titan Ups), this group of local miscreants celebrates the music of “Mad Dogs and Englishmen,” Joe Cocker’s classic 1970 album. After a two-year hiatus, they're back at the Bottom of the Hill on June 27th. Members of Cocker Power include Patrick Main (Oranger), Doug Hilsinger (Enorchestra, Bomb, Kelley Stoltz), Tom Galbraith (mensclub, Slouching Stars), Dan Carr, Allegra Bandy, Paula Frazer (Tarnation), Tex Dworkin, Dave Leonard (The Sermon, Tectonics), Lydia Walker (This Train Don’t Stop) and several other talented Bay Area troublemakers. Fantasy -from San Francisco, CA -"A San Francisco club scene fixture during the '90s, the band anchored by the falsetto vocals of singer/guitarist Kirk Markopoulos developed a solid following during its early heyday. Known as much for their outlandish costumes as their hooky power-pop anthems, Markopoulos would reconfigured Fantasy into the group Little Fuzzy during the early 2000s, issuing one self-released album in 2007. Fantasy would resurface a few years ago with Markopoulous and original drummer Ragi Dindal (who has played with songwriter Kelley Stoltz and Americana band Macerator) and has been regularly playing many of its old haunts to enthusiastic crowds." -Dave Pehling, CBS News Latitude -from San Francisco, CA -L'atitude is the debut full length from San Francisco rock & pop group Latitude. Front woman Amy Fowler leads the band through 11 tracks of effervescent power pop bliss with infectious melodies, jangly guitars, sparkling synths, and more hooks than your local bait & tackle. Imagine Big Star and Blondie making a record together in the elegant 80’s, with The Pretenders, Sparks, and The Nerves sprinkled on top—the perfect treat for a sunny summer day. |
