Linton's former band, Henry's Dress. The Aislers Set's music is often interpreted as adjacent to C86-style British indie pop. The founding members included A.V. Linton (songwriter, producer, guitar, vocals, multi-instrumentalist), Wyatt Cusick (guitar, vocals, multi-instrumentalist), Alicia Vanden Heuvel (bass, vocals, piano, multi-instrumentalist), Yoshi Nakamoto (drums), and Jen Cohen (organ). Dan Lee joined the band on organ after Cohen's departure in 2002. The band was primarily active from 1998 to 2003, touring the United States, Europe, and Japan. During that time, they released three self-recorded albums—Terrible Things Happen, The Last Match, and How I Learned to Write Backwards—on Slumberland Records, with their final album released as a split with Suicide Squeeze Records. All of their recordings were produced by Linton and made in his basement using either 8-track or 16-track analog tape. In addition to their albums, the band released numerous singles and were invited to record a Peel Session in 2001. After a long hiatus and with members living in different cities, the band occasionally reunites for special occasions. Kids On a Crime Spree -from Oakland, CA -Trio of indie pop veterans from Oakland, California known for their four to the floor urgency and buzz saw guitar sound. Lightheaded -from Long Branch, NJ -Rushing in from the shores of New Jersey, like a wave crashed on rocks, Lightheaded cast a twinkling reverberated haze while fishing for perfect pop songs. Cynthia, Stephen, Madison, and Gavin write pop songs in the classic sense, full of melody and harmony but bittersweet and memorable. Just like their musical heroes Heavenly and Comet Gain (two bands the group have shared the live stage with), you hear an aural kaleidoscope of pop music history in the records of Lightheadedland.
